Where is Gawin Divinity 2?
Gawin is a companion character in Divinity: Original Sin 2, who you can recruit early on in Act 2. Although, it is entirely possible to completely miss him. Hence, if you're wondering where to find Gawin Divinity 2, or you would even like to, here's a guide to help you out.
The Wits End Tavern
You'll be able to find Gawin in the Wits End Tavern in Driftwood. When you first enter Driftwood, make your way straight to this tavern. You'll see Gawin sat at a table, facing away from the entrance. Go over and speak with him, and he'll tell you that he's missing a book.
Retrieving the Book
Gawin will tell you that he needs a book to complete his research. He'll give you a note which has a clue to where the book is located. The note says: "In the secret vault beneath the library, seek the man with the twisted tongue."
The library that is being referred to here is the Driftwood Library. Head over there and speak to the librarian, which is the 'man with the twisted tongue' that is being referred to in the note. Speak with him about books, and he'll give you the book that Gawin needs.
Returning the Book to Gawin
Take this book back to Gawin. If you tell him that you found it in the library, he'll be suspicious of you, thinking that you stole it. He'll then ask you to prove that you're not a thief. There are two ways that you can do this:
- You can pass a persuasion check. If you have a high enough persuasion skill, then you can convince Gawin that you're not a thief.
- You can show Gawin the note that he gave you. If you still have the note, then you can show it to Gawin and he'll believe that you found the book in the library.
Once you've proven that you're not a thief, Gawin will be grateful and he'll give you a reward. He'll also offer to join your party, if you want him to. Gawin is a versatile character who can be built in a number of different ways. He's a good addition to any party.
Gawin's Story
Gawin's backstory is a bit of a mystery. He's a scholar who was once a member of the Academy of Fort Joy. However, he was expelled from the Academy after he was accused of heresy. He's now a drifter who is searching for answers to the world's many mysteries.
If you recruit Gawin, he'll tell you more about his backstory as you travel together. He's a complex character who is haunted by his past. However, he's also a loyal friend and a valuable member of any party.
